Magazine May 2003 By Stakerized! This is one of those albums where it’s difficult to tell by the sleeve layout which is the title and which is the name of the group. But Snowy has a pedigree with Steven Roback from legendary LA paisley underground band, Rain Parade and the voice of Bonnie Evenson. A great voice counts for so much. Solid compositions like these, tinged with shoegazer and trip-hop pop, wouldn’t have the same impact without her breathy, languorous emoting. The arrangements add just enough instrumentation to showcase her singing and still give her the right amount of space. This album is like a snow-filled, wondrous sleepwalk. |
